1 Day Trip from Fes To Meknes

Meknes is the most modest of the 4 Imperial Cities of Morocco, something which makes it a unique place, more peaceful and placid than Fez, Marrakech or Rabat. Meknes is surrounded by fields whose agricultural products are one of the pillars of the city’s economy. Curiously enough, this region is where most of the wine of Morocco is produced, a surprising fact on its own, since it is forbidden for Muslims to drink alcohol. There, we’ll have the chance to visit the Bazaars, the el-Hedim Square (which is to Meknes what Jamaa El Fna Square is to Marrakech,) the Dar Jamaï Museum, the Mausoleum of Mulay Ismaíl, the Madrassah Bou Inania, etc. Afterwards, return to Fez around 05:00 p.m.
